Hello Parents and Volunteers of AYSO Costa Mesa Region 120,
Regional Commissioner nominations are now open. We encourage and welcome you to express interest in the position and/or make recommendations on candidates you would like to see nominated.
The AYSO volunteer position of Regional Commissioner is intended to have the responsibility and the authority to manage the day-to-day business of the Region, within the framework of the AYSO operating regulations.
Regional Commissioner Job Duties - AYSO Who? The general qualification to be eligible to nominate yourself or be nominated for this position are that you are preferably a current or past AYSO Regional Board member or a registered volunteer in good standing with the organization.
Why? AYSO guidelines specify that the volunteer Regional Commissioner term is 3 years in duration. Between 3 and 6 months prior to the expiration of that term, a nominating commission is formed to seek and recommend one or more candidates to the Regional Board. The Regional Board shall then, by majority vote, nominate a Regional Commissioner and forward such nomination to the Region's Area Director.
When? ∙Sunday, March 26th - The final day for you to submit your recommended candidates to the nomination commission.
∙Monday, March 27th - Nominating commission meets to review candidates and their resumes
∙Monday, April 17 - RC Candidates Q&A (Open To Everyone) And Board Vote with Area Q Staff member
∙Saturday, July 1 - The Regional Commissioner Elect transitions to active Regional Commissioner by Oct. 1st
